How frequently do you email your list?

Most people's approach to email marketing can be called guesswork at best.

That's why you hear some people say you should email 3 times every day and others say you should email once in a blue moon.

And I've seen how it plays out in both scenarios...

They can both work...

BUT

What matters is not the frequency but the amount they CONSUME.

And open rates and response rates are indicators of consumption.

Increased consumption positively correlates to increased sales.

So your emails need to be written in a way that increases consumption, regardless of how often you send them out.

I've been sending out emails to my English student leads two or three times a week and each time we do it, we get customers from our existing list of leads.

No money spent on ads!

And today we got a subscription for $297/month and a subscription for $197/month...

I was thinking about that when I woke up and saw the emails...

That's $500/month - from an email.

And I've got all of my emails saved as templates because the copy (the words of the email) is what really sells.

Another factor to consider is your list segments.

Do you email your entire list the same email?

Or do you send specific emails to specific groups within your list?

Recency is an important aspect to consider here.

The more recently the person has opted-in or made a purchase, the more receptive they will be to additional offers, upgrades, etc.

So it makes sense that you would speak to your most recent leads differently than you would speak to those who are 9 months old (who technically aren't even leads anymore in most markets).

But just believe what I'm writing here...

Go do it yourself.

Write an email for your list and send it out. See what happens.
